Living the #CopCarLife
In Phoenix, AZ outside the @TreehouseBakery
After all the repairs, this 300+ mile road trip (road test) went well , no issues, no leaks
Brakes & the gas leak are the next project
I saw a new leak on the concrete. So I jacked up the rear end to take a look
It was the passenger side wheel bearing again, leaking all over the wheel. (See video)
So I got new (better) bearings & seals and bought / loaned the tools for the job at the auto parts place
Bought new jack stands, and borrowed a good floor jack
So i was able to raise the rear end pretty high, a lot easier to work on here than it as the last time around a year ago when we had to do this job on the way home from Vegas in a friend’s dad’s garage
Had to pick a 94+ degree day to work on it, LOL
One side is in the shade, one side is not..
You can see the channel on the passenger side axle (right) from the bad bearings
- RTV Blue
- three quarts of 80W90 gear oil (Valvoline synthetic 75W-140) ?
- outer bearings & seals
I hope I dont need this video
New headlights !! Only took 10 minutes start to finish, lights cost less than $50 shipped
Wow, big difference at night
Clean or replace your headlights!! I think these are 2/3 brighter from inside.. wow
Now I need to aim them.. any theroys how to set up #CopCar headlights?
Went to change oil, and the guys saw a lot of oil leaking, so they filled it up and sent me to repair it. I grabbed a set of hoses and the new gasket and jacked up the car.
Not many videos o the process since it is so tedious to get to, but Ii managed to figure out the removal and replacement of the gasket
I did manage to break the bolt that holds the oil cooler hoses, so i had to drill it out and replace the 9mm/10mm bolt
Replaced the oil filter & changed oil too
In the end, the repair ent ell, and has remained fixed, money saved
FOund out I could turn off the seat-belt noise in the Cop Car
Turn on key (dont start engine)
Wait for seat belt light to go off
Then click & UnClick the seat belt 3 times
Next turn the headlights on and off
Then click & UnClick the seat belt 3 more times
Watch the seat belt light go off
then click and unclick one more time
the seat belt light will flash 7 times to confirm

This was a great year at the SHOT show. Our 11th year attending as media, but the first year we were able to bring the dog. The drive up was great and un-eventfullLas Vegas is always a fun place to visit
Good parking this year
The car started to leak some fluid from the rear driver side wheel
So, after the show, I decided to fill the differential at a local shop ($7 cost of fluid is all they charged)
and see how bad the leak did on the way home
The car only got a few hundred miles (to Kingman, AZ)
Used the AAA 200-mile tow to get the car down to Phoenix, to a friends driveway
We stayed in a Walmart parking lot overnight, and started the day at the local auto parts store
Rented the tools to replace the rear axle seal.
And did the repair in a friends driveway in Phoenix, AZ
Turned out to be an in-expensive fix, (under $10 in parts)
If you are gonna run out of gas, do it a few hundred yards from a gas station !!
Got to change the tire on the side of the road today.
All things concidered it was an easy fix.. and now to fix or repair…
Had a flat tire today, but swapped it out in no time. It was a nice day, plenty of light. I pulled off Ina and had a lot of room too.
I carry a full size spare tire and a floor jack. So repair (or replacing) the damaged one doesn’t have to be done immediately
I try to buy surplus cop tires, but these are a chain-store brand
